Enterprise Data Architect - Public Trust

Location: DC Metro Area / Hybrid Flexibility

Alexandria, VA - 100% Remote

Metric5 is seeking an enterprise data architect to support the development of enterprise data models and standards in an enterprise Data Architecture Division. The ideal candidate will have experience in enterprise data architecture and data management in the financial and/or government sector, and experience in data modeling, database languages and new database technologies. The position supports the Director of the Data Architecture Division and interfaces with technical and business leaders throughout a mid­sized federal agency.

Responsibilities

• Establish enterprise data standards addressing key aspects of the data management lifecycle

• Provide guidance on transition/migration plans from current data architecture state to target data architecture

• Administer data modeling tools, including including installing, maintaining and configuring data modeling tools in the cloud

• Identify data sensitivity and coordinate with the data security team to implement user access policies

• Communicate with the client, agency IT and data security teams regarding data strategy and infrastructure requirements

• Identify how data architecture must advance to integrate AI/ML into existing processes

• Recommend policies around best practices for data loading and extraction into/from data storage

• Maintain documentation of data repositories and generated artifacts, including playbooks

Qualifications

• Experience with enterprise architecture methods and frameworks (e.g., FEAF, TOGAF, Zachman)

• Experience designing conceptual, logical and physical data models for Relational Database Management Systems

• Knowledge and experience administering data modeling tools, version upgrades, and configuring and maintaining multi-user data modeling tool installed in the Cloud - such as Idera, ER/Studio Team Server

• Knowledge of cloud-based data infrastructure

• Knowledge of design and implementation methods, processes, and systems for consolidating and analyzing structured and unstructured data in order to inform data standards

• Capability to identify data sensitivity and incorporate necessary security policies

• Familiarity with native database languages such as SQL, PL/SQL and PostgreSQL and new database technologies such as NoSQL

• Familiarity with common data warehouse and data lake architectures

Education: Bachelor's Degree Desired Education/Certifications: Industry certifications (CDMP, DCAM, TOGAF, Zachman, etc.)

Years of Experience: 3+ years of experience

Clearance: Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance

Salary: 130 - 150k
